Australian Malaysian Singapore Association Inc. (AMSA) respects the privacy of its members and subscribers. 


This privacy policy has been compiled to inform you about how AMSA collects and uses the information you provide.

When a customer makes a payment on any AMSA channels or when a user completes an online form for subscriptions or newsletters, such customer or user consents to the processing of their personal data by AMSA in accordance with the purpose for which the data was provided.

What personal information do we collect?

We do not specifically request information from visitors to our website site; however, as a visitor to our website or social media pages, you may volunteer to provide your name and contact details in order to subscribe to our mailing list / newsletter; to receive notification of events, other news, information of relevance to you or to sign up as an AMSA member as an individual or as an organisation. 

We lawfully collect personal information that is necessary for our organisation to function and may include:


  • Name, date of birth, signature, address and contact details

  • Photograph

  • Company

  • Payment card data

  • Data from customer surveys, subscriptions or newsletters

  • Data from AMSA social media and other digital platforms


We collect information from you when you:


  • subscribe to our mailing list / newsletter or for special offers via our social media pages

  • provide your details to AMSA via social media, email, SMS, letter or in person to one of our management committees 

  • register to attend an AMSA meeting or event 

  • join AMSA as a member or attend an event or meeting as a guest. 

How we use your information

Contact details and information you provide is used to:

  • send you AMSA’s newsletter 

  • send you information about events of interest to you including advice of meetings of AMSA and relevant business community events and information

  • perform market research purposes to improve our organisation. 

  • maintain your relationship as a member of AMSA

  • provide the services you have requested from AMSA

  • administer and manage those services

  • answer your inquiry

  • market services you have shown interest in 

  • detect, prevent and address technical issues

Members and guests have the following rights in respect of their personal data:


  • Access to personal information and request a copy of such information, subject to law.

  • Request correction and updating of personal data.

  • Demand the deletion of personal data, subject to law.

  • Withdraw a consent to process personal data, subject to law. 


You can access, correct, delete or update information AMSA holds about you, or unsubscribe from receiving communication from AMSA by sending your required changes through our contact page.

We reserve the right to reject any requests in respect of processing personal data which are of a harassing or repetitive nature, which require disproportionate technical measures, which impact the protection of other customers’ personal data, or where it would be disproportionately resource-demanding or highly complicated to accommodate the request.


Third-party disclosure


Your contact details are retained by AMSA solely for the purpose of communicating directly with you. We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your contact details to outside parties without your verbal or written consent.

We may share certain contact details with our event partners/contractors and commercial partners to better organise our events.

AMSA may use from time to time agents, social media and/or other cloud based software to market and/or manage our business, example, WIX, Active Campaign, calendaring software etc who may collect your details on our behalf. You may also refer to their relevant privacy policies for more information.



We may provide paid services e.g. PayPal and Stripe, within the Service. In that case, we use third-party services for payment processing (e.g. payment processors). These are integrated onto our web pages developed within WIX to process customer registration and payments


We do not store card details. That information is provided directly to our third-party payment processors whose use of your personal information is governed by their Privacy Policy. These payment processors adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, Mastercard, American Express, AfterPay and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of payment information.

Legal requirements around disclosure of information


To comply with relevant legislation, we reserve the right to disclose your personally identifiable information when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on AMSA. 




AMSA uses cookies. Cookies are used for personal settings, website functionality and targeted marketing. In your browser you can delete cookies, or set the browser to request your permission to accept cookies.

If you decline, your information won’t be tracked when you visit this website. A single cookie will be used in your browser to remember your preference not to be tracked.
