This July, Sydney hosted an inspiring display of youth football, as teams across Australia and the region gathered for the CommBank Emerging Matildas Championship, organised by Football Australia. Among the team was the Malaysian Women's U15, proudly representing the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), whose presence and performance throughout the week made a lasting impression.

AMSA was proud to stand behind the Malaysian Women's U15 team and support their journey during the championship, a week that brought shared passion for the sport, cultural exchange, and the nuturing of rising talent. The team brought exceptional energy and determination to the field, showcasing not just strong potential, but also the spirit of teamwork and resilience that define future champions.

Their best game of the week was the thrilling 3-0 victory against Northern Territory, where their technical footwork, strategic plays and goal execution left a lasting impression of the crowd. The team's on-field performance was matched by their off-field sportsmanship, making them standout participants of the championship.

Congratulations to the players and coaches for a spirited tournament full of heart, skill, and unity

Midway through the championship week, AMSA hosted a special dinner that brought together Team Malaysia, officials from the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) and Football Australia. A special thank you to Pandawa Nasi Bungkus Australia for hosting the dinner and providing a space for this gathering of sports and culture. We were also honoured to have the representatives from the Consulate General of Malaysia in Sydney in attendance, a meaningful gesture of support and encouragement for the young athletes.

The championship embodied the multicultural spirit of Australia, and we hope to see continued support for rising football players, not just in Australia, but around the world. Football is a universal sport, played and loved by many countries. Investing in youth development and providing international opportunities are key to helping young athletes progress and reach their full potential.

We extend our sincere congratulations to Malaysian Women's U15 team for their outstanding performance, and a heartfelt thank you to Football Australia for allowing AMSA to be part of this wonderful experience. It was a powerful reminder of how sport can bring nations together, inspire next generation, and build lasting connections across borders.
